About Aussie Days
Free tools and straight answers for Working Holiday makers doing their 88 and 179 days.
Why this exists
Doing your specified work is stressful enough. Then you find three calculators that give three different answers, postcode lists that are hard to read, and Facebook threads that contradict each other. Aussie Days puts the official rules in plain words, checks postcodes against the official tables, and counts your days from your payslips, showing the maths every time.
Who runs it
Aussie Days is an independent project, built by people who have done Working Holiday visas in Australia themselves, including regional work. We aren't a migration agent, we don't sell visa services, and we have no connection to any employer or labour-hire company.
Where the facts come from
- The rules: the Home Affairs specified work pages for the 417 and 462 visas, quoted directly, with the date we checked them.
- The postcode lists: the six official Home Affairs tables (last changed 2025-04-05) and the legislative instrument behind them.
- Suburbs, regions and remoteness: the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ASGS 2021, CC BY 4.0).
Every guide shows the date its facts were checked. How we check.
What we don't do
- We don't give immigration advice or tell you whether you qualify. Only the Department of Home Affairs decides that.
- We aren't affiliated with the Australian Government.
- We don't charge for the tools, and you don't need an account.

Questions, ideas or a postcode that looks wrong: email [email protected]. We read everything. We can't give advice on your own visa case; for that, ask a registered migration agent.
